Architecture
The remnants of old barns, stables, sheds and living quarters gradually transformed into bedrooms and suites, a restaurant, and a library, emphasizing the ecosystems, localities, cuisine and art, and an honesty bar and several living rooms, year after year. The surprising Cork Box was born from the enormous threshing machine garage, which is now the venue for yoga, meditation, and dance.

Companhia das Culturas has always served as an epitome of conscious travel and nature awareness, bringing a significant part of the involvement of the guest in nature activities.

Staff is mainly from local areas. Guests can choose from several activities that vary between trails over the surrounding nature and visits to local producers.
Giving Back
This Ecotourism was born out of the mutual desire of the owners not to let the history slip away that was present in over 1500 m2 of Fran- cisco's family old farmhouse, which throughout seven generations contributed decisively to the small village of São Bartolomeu and its residents. Today, the same community supplies its products to the Companhia das Culturas in an ongoing eulogy of regional produce as a source of local sustainability.
Food
Based on the "zero-food-miles" concept, and in contrast to the agribusiness methods, only locally sourced and seasonal products are served at breakfast, dinner or snacks.

Guest can enjoy a true farm life through the several ha of property, enjoy a yoga morning class at the Yoga cork room or just relax by the bio pool surrounded by anything but silence.

OUT OF THE RUINS A NEW HISTORY EMERGES
Companhia das Culturas setting is luxurious, but not in the way we usually associate this adjective with when we think about tourist accommodation. The Eco-tourism was born out of the owners, Eglantina and Francisco joint desire not to let the history slip away that was present in over 1500 m2 of Francisco’s family old farmhouse, which throughout seven generations contributed decisively to the small village of São Bartolomeu and its residents.
The same community today supplies its products to the Companhia das Culturas, in an ongoing eulogy of regional produce as a source of local sustainability.Beyond the vegetable garden and the hennery that provide the restaurant, or the gardens next to the pools, the 40 hectare property - stone pines, cork oaks, and carob, apricot, fig, olive and orange trees, invites you to stroll, and you can find places to rest, to read a book, have a picnic or take a nap. Located 1.5 km from the Praia Verde beach, 4 km from the historical town of Castro Marim and 6 km from Ria Formosa Nature Re- serve, Companhia das Culturas is a space created by people, for people. Its philosophy is giving, receiving and reciprocating, and human relations are prioritised, from the art of welcoming guests to the dignity and preference attributed to the local producers

CHILDREN & EXTRA BEDS
Children of all ages are welcome and can sleep in the Suites which have a sofa bed for an additional 2 children (at €50 per child). Babies stay free of charge.
CANCELATION POLICY AND PAYMENTS
The hotel requires an advance payment to guarantee the reservation, paid by bank transfer or by credit card with the respective details of the customer.
If cancelled or modified within 8 days prior to the date of arrival [ no later than 3PM, local time ] the total amount of the reservation will be refund. If the cancellation or modification of the reservation occurs within 7 days prior to the arrival date, (maximum until 15:00, local time) the deposit amount paid will not be refunded
